This project aims to develop a Korea-representative wellness MICE program based on Busan’s traditional Buddhist cultural resources and Seon (Zen) meditation practices. By integrating the values of Buddhist meditation and healing with contemporary lifestyles, the project seeks to present a distinctive wellness cultural content unique to Busan.
In particular, the project introduces a comprehensive healing program that organically connects urban temples with coastal retreat destinations. Through experiential content where meditation, rest, and healing coexist, the initiative aspires to position Busan as a hub for the meditation industry, while strengthening the city’s cultural identity and brand value.
Furthermore, the project is designed as a community-oriented initiative that brings new vitality to regions facing population decline and urban shrinkage. By utilizing local resources and operating sustainable programs, it aims to contribute to the improvement of citizens’ mental health and overall quality of life.
